I'm Stan Chang. I live in Singapore, where I build software.

I'm a software engineer and a YC founder, now focused on solo building. My main project is Mempipe, a file-native knowledge workspace for agents and people. I've been building software since 2006, from games and iOS apps to co-founding Taskade (YC S19). I still write software for fun, too.

I strive to be a contributing member of the local (Singapore and Malaysia) and open source communities, giving talks at local meetups and releasing projects as open source.

I believe that state is the root of all complexity. To quote, "it is the presence of many possible states which gives rise to the complexity in the first place". Writing quality, maintainable software is an exercise of reducing the number of states one needs to manage in a given context.
